The active ingredient in Acivir Eye Ointment (3% w/w) is Acyclovir, a member of the antiviral medication class. It is used for Eye Care. It is used to treat immunocompromised adults and adolescents over the age of 12 who have cold sores linked to the Herpes simplex virus. It can also be used to reduce the amount of time that pain lasts and hasten the healing of wounds.

The herpes simplex virus is the source of cold sores, which typically appear around the mouth. Small, fluid-filled lesions known as cold sores, sore lips, ulcers, blisters, or skin rashes are some of the symptoms.

If you have low immunity, mouth sores, or more than four bouts of cold sores annually, let your doctor know before using Acivir Eye Ointment (3% w/w). Pregnant women should generally avoid using Acivir Eye Ointment unless essential. Because Acivir Eye Ointment may transfer into breast milk, it is typically not advised for use by nursing mothers.

Following application of Acivir Eye Ointment (3% w/w) Australia, rash, Itchy Skin, minor skin drying or peeling, and dry lips are the most frequent adverse effects. If your symptom worsens or continues, get in touch with your physician.

I was prescribed Acivir Eye Ointment for a herpes simplex eye infection, and within a few days, the redness and irritation started to go away. It stings a little when applied, but the results were worth it.
