What is Betrecep 5 mg?

Betrecep 5 mg is a prescription medication used to treat various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. It is given to a patient to relieve pain from arthritis conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis.

Composition and Appearance

How does Betrecep 5 mg Tablet work?

1. Triggering the Process: An outside irritant (cytokine) binds to the cell’s surface membrane.
2. Normal Reaction: In most cases, the binding event triggers the activity of internal proteins JAK by allowing them to combine. Their activity is a signal for proteins called STATs to bind to the receptor site.
3. Interception by Betrecep: Following ingestion, the Betrecep enters the body cells and attaches itself to the JAK1 and JAK3 enzymes, preventing their activation.
4. The Shutdown: With JAK being inhibited, the docking of the STAT proteins fails to occur, and hence they fail to act as mediators of cytokine signalling.

👉 Result: Messages regarding cytokine production will not reach the cell nucleus since no signalling proteins will have been activated. The cell will not produce inflammatory cytokines.

For ankylosing spondylitis: The same dose of 5 mg is taken 2 times per day.

Ulcerative colitis: To stop flare-up conditions, the doctors recommend a dose of 5 mg taken 2 times a day for the first 8 to 16 weeks. Thereafter, the doctors lower the dose to 5 mg, twice each day, until your guts heal again.

How to take: To use the Betrecep 5 mg pills, the method is to swallow the medicine.

Meal or no meal: There are no harmful effects if you use the medicine on an empty stomach or after having a meal.

  • Antibiotics like Clarithromycin or any other macrolide antibiotics

Medicines to reduce effectiveness: On the contrary, some drugs increase the effects of the liver enzyme CYP3A4.

This will cause the enzyme to be highly effective and flush out the Betrecep tablet faster from your body, reducing its effects. An example of such medicine is Rifampin.

Live vaccines: Avoid taking live vaccines like those for yellow fever, mumps, and typhoid, as your immune system is slower than usual under the effects of Betrecep.

Precautions and warnings of Betrecep 5 mg

Addictions: Any kind of addictive substance has a high chance of interaction with melatonin and may severely increase the risk of any side effect given above.

Driving: Avoid taking the medicine when driving.

Pregnancy: The medicine Betrecep 5 mg carries a risk of birth defects and harm for the developing foetus in the womb.

It is important to inform the doctors if you are trying for a pregnancy when starting a course of this medicine for the next few weeks or months. It is important to use effective contraceptive techniques at least.
