Methimez 5 mg contains Methimazole, which is primarily used to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). It works by reducing the production of thyroid hormones.

Uses:

• Treatment of Graves’ disease (autoimmune hyperthyroidism)
• Preoperative management before thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy
• Used to control excessive thyroid hormone levels

Dosage:

• The dosage varies based on the severity of hyperthyroidism.
